If Time Stood Still
IF TIME STOOD STILL
I always loved you…
but I knew u loved me more.
You were a nuisance at times,
but never when I was sad.
You always looked at me,
like the day I met you.
Sorry I couldn't do the same.
Day full of stress,
but at least I had you.
I hope you are happy,
wherever you are.
Oh! my love, I miss you,
my bundle of joy,
my family, my dog, Juno.
-Poem by Anjali Bhagat.
The above poem is about a dog who has passed away and the owner is remembering the dog. This poem is written in remembrance of dog Juno. I dedicate this poem to the most loyal companion of humans, known as the best friend of man, dogs. This poem is to remember the dogs who helped their owners surviving life and living a little more. This poem describes the feeling of owner towards the dog. I have tried to depict life with a dog. The dog displays a lot of love towards the owner and he/she can’t possibly do the same at every time because of stress in life. The owner regrets it. He/she is thankful that the dog was there in the days of sadness. The owner also hopes that the dog is in better place implying heaven. Staying with the dog makes life easier and also dog becomes a member of the family. Maybe using words like mother or father sounds good than saying owner.
The theme of the poem is "memories". The owner goes through nostalgia about the time spent with the dog. The poem is a narrative about the dog and its innocence. The poem starts with past tense and it becomes evident that it is about memory. The title of the poem talks about time standing still implying longing of the past. Love from a true friend cannot be lost. In the world full of temporary things, love stays forever. That love could be for anyone.

sent angles down to earth in the form of dogs with notes saying don’t judge, just love. They
ate the notes but keep trying to deliver the message” -Annonymous.
